Types of fire tenders

Basic Fire Tenders: These are the most common type and include pumpers, tank trucks, pumping engines, motor fire engines, chemical fire engines, and airport fire trucks. They use water, gas, aerated foam, and other extinguishing powders.

Special Fire Tenders: Equipped with additional tools and specialized personnel, these vehicles are used for tasks like transporting firefighters and equipment for smoke removal.

Auxiliary Fire Tenders: Used for large-scale fires and for educational purposes.

Tanker Trucks (Water Tenders): Designed to transport large quantities of water to areas lacking readily available water sources like hydrants.

Crash Fire Tenders (ARFF vehicles): Specialized fire engines for aircraft rescue and firefighting at airports, carrying large amounts of water and foam and equipped with powerful pumps and water/foam cannons.

Rescue Trucks: Carry hydraulic tools, cutting equipment, and other devices for extricating individuals from vehicles, collapsed structures, or hazardous environments.

Wildland Fire Trucks (Brush or Forestry Fire Trucks): Compact and agile, with off-road capabilities and specialized firefighting equipment for combating wildfires.

Multipurpose Fire Tenders: Combine the features of different types, often carrying both water and foam tanks, and equipped for various fire and rescue operations.
